Wedding Photography FAQ’s

A bit if calming clarity

How long will you cover the wedding for on the day?

As standard I say from the ‘getting ready shots’ through to first dance because this is the most popular request. Every wedding is unique, so it may be you need something slightly different. All you have to do is ask when enquiring with anything specific you may need.

When do you finish if photographing a full day?

I stay until the party is popping and I have got some shots of merry guests pulling their best shapes on the dance floor.

Do we feed you?

Yes please! I appreciate this massively as photographing on my feet for long hours is hungry work. The more energised I am, the better my focus and the outcomes! If this isn’t in your budget I understand, but I will require a food break like any other person at work should.

I don’t mind sitting on my own, so you don’t need to worry if there’s limited table space.

When do you take you break?

I take my break when you are eating. Nobody likes to have photos of them whilst they’re eating! This means it is not guaranteed I get photos of the food courses that go out. If you see examples of dishes in my portfolio, it is because I have been sitting amongst the guests and eating the same dishes. Usually though, it is time to put my camera down and relax before the party gets popping!

Where are you willing to travel to, and what does mileage cost?

I love any reason to travel, and will cover all of the UK.

There are no travel or accommodation costs for weddings in London where I live. Those with a considerable drive I will tailor prices reasonably specifically to each non-local wedding.

As an example; I charge 0.45p per mile, from my front door to the location.
I do not drive tired and photographing from morning until night uses up the brain juice! So if it’s quite far, I may require accommodation the for the night before and night of the shoot.

My passport is ready and waiting, and am open to international liaisons!

What if the day runs over schedule?

Sometimes unforeseen circumstances can lead to things running a little over time. A wee bit over is normal, but for considerable extra hours £150 per hour will be charged.

Do you do half days and if so how much?

If you’re wondering this, it is time to enquire! The answer is yes I do, the price depends on location and hours needed. Find out more by contacting me here.

Are half days half price?

In the height of the peak wedding season there would be huge loss of earnings by saving dates for the half days. I will be bringing the same skills and acquired knowledge to the table, the very same expensive equipment and of my enthusiasm to capture your special moments together. The running costs stay the same for me and I want to keep delivering the same quality of service to you. In short, not as much as full days but not half price.

How long until we can see the photos?!

I’ll email you a sneak peek of a few images to tide you over within the first week. Then I ask for 4-6 weeks to send you your online album of finished images. If say I became incredibly ill or there’s unforeseen tragedy, then under that sort of circumstance could be longer.

Can we have the originals / RAWS?

It’s industry standard that photographers never provide the originals / RAWS. I will never hold any amazing images from you! I pick the best ones, I cull the blinkers and stinkers. You have chosen me as your photographer because you love my style and trust in my trained eye.

What is the different between digital images and high res images?

A digital image is for screen, i.e. your laptop, facebook, phone, instagram, an online gallery. A high res image is for printing purposes. My packages come with the digital images where you can download for free. The high res images are available for print in my online shop that you receive once your gallery arrives!

What can you buy in the online shop?

Prints of all sorts of sizes, on various types of paper. The albums are very cool because you get to choose your favourite images and curate them yourselves by simply dragging and dropping images. You get to choose the colour and texture of the album cover too. I think it is great that you get to make the album just how you like and of the photos you cherish most.

Can family see / buy the pictures?

The final edited pictures are presented in a beautiful online album. You will receive that and be able to share a link to it with them. There are guided instructions so if your elders aren’t too tech savvy it should still be easy enough for them without breaking the internet! They will see a shopping cart icon and will be able to purchase prints just like you can from the online shop.

What happens after my free year’s subscription for the online gallery is up?

Hosting your gorgeous online gallery is not free for me to provide, I wish it was! If you simply adore your gallery and are not ready by then for it to expire, you can pay £50 per year for as long as you want it.

Do I have to pose?

I will always give you direction on the day, but if you’re ever feeling uncomfortable just say, or tell me in the consultation you’re not a fan of posing. Often in couples shoots I will pick the spot and just ask you to talk amongst yourselves, the most natural and relaxed shots can happen this way.

I have a degree in Fashion Photography from the London College of Fashion so allow me to try and softly teach you a few angles that work for you.
I often prefer to shoot from far away with a zoom lens like a ninja in the night, so at weddings you might not even know I’m there.

I can’t recommend just giving it a go though, because you might just love the photos and treasure them. Sometimes, it’s like trying on a dress you usually wouldn’t go for and surprisingly end up loving it. Have a look through my Pinterest for great pose and other wedding planning inspiration.

Will we meet you before the wedding?

Not always! It depends how close we live together. If you’re London dwellers like me then definitely! If you’re further afield, it’ll be via Zoom or phone call, whatever you prefer.

When are payments due?

The deposit is to be paid 2 days after consultation, and the remaining balance up to 7 days before the main shoot date.

Do you do family and / or pet photography?

Yes! I prefer a contemporary approach. Click here to find out!

What does a couples or engagement session look like?

2 hours of looking into each others eyes! Check out Ryan & Jyothi’s couple session here.

How do we book?!

Drop me a line and we can go from there!
